My Thoughts On PlayStation Ending Physical Discs

Sony has announced they're ending the production of physical discs for PlayStation consoles by January 2028. And while they have made it clear that reprints could occur, there's simply no getting around this being the end of what was such a core part of the hobby. And in the midst of all this, there's arguments about physical vs. digital splits, publisher desire, profits, used games, and the WHY of Sony is doing this. I'm here to argue, it's less about that. Numbers are numbers, but sometimes you do something as a goodwill initiative. And PlayStation has forgotten what it means to do something for the brand and the wider fandom. They just don't get it anymore. I also never understood the plot of Inception. But we're not here for that.
