In den Hauptrollen sind die Oscar®-nominierte Monica Barbaro (Like a Complete Unknown, Top Gun: Maverick) und der BAFTA-nominierte Callum Turner (Masters of the Air, Phantastische Tierwesen-Reihe) zu sehen. Sie spielen Allie und Owen, die auf der Suche nach der großen Liebe und nicht nach flüchtigen Abenteuern sind. In einem leicht fiktionalisierten New York City treffen sie ausgerechnet in der einen Nacht des Jahres aufeinander, in der Singles Sex haben dürfen.

Zur Besetzung gehören auch Maya Hawke (Stranger Things), Julia Fox (Der schwarze Diamant), die Indie-Pop-Sensation King Princess (Nine Perfect Strangers), Ben Marshall (Saturday Night Live), Ziwe (Baited with Ziwe), Ella Loudon (Can’t Let it Go), die Kult-Schauspieler Molly Ringwald (The Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink) und LeVar Burton (Star Trek: The Next Generation).

Das Drehbuch zu ONE NIGHT ONLY nach einem Skript von Travis Braun stammt von Will Gluck, der auch Regie führt. Die Komödie wird von Gluck mit seiner Firma Olive Bridge Entertainment produziert, zusammen mit Jacqueline Monetta, Vizepräsidentin von Olive Bridge und ausführende Produzentin von Wo die Lüge hinfällt.
