Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred Is What Diablo 4 Should Have Been

Is Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred worth buying? After 41 hours with the expansion, I’m ready to give my full review.

Lord of Hatred makes Diablo 4 bigger, deeper, and more satisfying in almost every way. The campaign is strong, the new region is gorgeous, the Warlock is now my favorite class, build diversity feels better than ever, and the new systems - including War Plans, activity trees, the Cube, crafting, talismans, charms, and sets - give Diablo 4 the kind of endgame structure it has needed for years.

That said, it is not perfect. Inventory and stash pressure are a major problem, early progression can feel too RNG-dependent, some systems still need refinement, and a few design choices may not land for everyone.

But overall, Lord of Hatred feels like the version of Diablo 4 that should have launched. If you previously enjoyed Diablo 4, this is absolutely worth playing. If you bounced off Diablo 4 early but wanted it to become a stronger action RPG, this may be the best time to come back.
