MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN REMASTERED: Coy’s Expertise on Gameplay & Cutscenes, Part 1
MARVEL’S SPIDER-MAN REMASTERED GAMEPLAY CHAOS!! John & Coy jump into Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, with John playing the game for the first time ever — and things immediately swing into chaos. Coy calls this one of the best games he’s played in years, while John is mostly just hoping he’s worthy of the suit… despite only having Spider-Man GameCube experience to fall back on.
From the opening moments, we’re diving into Peter Parker’s world, geeking out over Spider-Man lore, comic references, suit details, web shooters, Amazing Fantasy #15, Sam Raimi vibes, and the pure joy of swinging through New York City. The traversal alone becomes its own adventure as John learns how to swing, wall-run, follow yellow markers, and not emotionally faceplant into the concrete.
The game stops being a sightseeing tour real fast when we reach Fisk Towers. We take on waves of Kingpin’s men, struggle with dodging, focus meters, healing, air combat, rockets, server rooms, and the very simple lesson that bullets hurt. There’s button mashing, accidental pausing, panic healing, constant quipping, and several moments where Spider-Man looks way less “Amazing” and way more “barely surviving.” John finally experiences the full Spider-Man arc — dying, learning, improving, and somehow coming out the other side victorious.
After Fisk goes down, the game opens up into classic Spidey life: leveling up, unlocking skills, swinging through Manhattan, dealing with Otto Octavius’ lab problems, solving science puzzles, repairing circuits, matching spectrographs, and realizing that being Peter Parker means fighting crime one minute and doing homework-level engineering the next. We also get the full New York experience — J. Jonah Jameson ranting, Yuri banter, Spider-Cop being born, crime tokens, backpacks, tower repairs, side missions, random street crimes, and the constant temptation to abandon responsibility for collectibles.
Things get even better when the iconic Insomniac Spider-Man suit finally appears. Doc thinks Peter is just Spider-Man’s “suit guy,” the white spider design gets its big reveal, and we unlock new suit powers and gadgets while diving into Superior Spider-Man, Otto’s comic history, and why this version of Spider-Man has become so beloved.
If you’re here for Spider-Man gameplay, comic book deep cuts, first-time player chaos, and two Spider-Man fans slowly turning a gameplay session into a full-on podcast… this is that video.
